Oracle DB administrator

Your role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our Oracle databases running on MS Azure. You will be part of a bigger Document management team who is providing complex services to our customer in the area of document maintenance (SW development, testing, administration, SAP consulting, …). 

The role includes:

• Installing, maintaining, and supporting database Software products, clients and
  agents;
• Deployment of physical database clones as requested by Customer;
• migrating database to new and other hardware platforms in agreement with
  Customer;
• Proactive monitoring, optimization and planning to prevent out of capacity and out of
  performance situations;
• Managing and adjusting of  parameters (e.g. sessions, processes, etc.);
• Performing database shutdown and start-ups as needed;
• Set up and management of required special database features to support operation
  with different Service Levels and specific requirements, e.g. encryption, partitioning,
  high availability;
• Plan for changes in the size of databases based on information supplied by Customer;
• Backup and recovery of databases, logs and file systems including archive handling;
• Performance Analysis & Tuning activities
• Creation and modification of database objects (e.g. tables, indexes);
• Specific database user management;
• Logical data export and import (e.g. Datapump, SQL Loader )
• Troubleshooting database client / server connection
• On call support during non office hours

What do we expect?

• Proven experience as an Oracle DBA with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle Database architecture, management, and tuning.
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
• Strong understanding of database security practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Oracle DBA certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) is preferred.
• Experience with MS Azure cloud or other cloud database solutions
• Familiarity with other database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server)
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
• Experience with database automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting)
• Fluent English, German will be advantage
